School at St. Cyril

St. Cyril of Jerusalem Elementary School, originally staffed by three Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, opened in 1950.  The first permanent building was completed in 1952 and by 1955, the school had grown to eight classrooms.  In June of 1956, St. Cyril's graduated its first eighth grade class.

St Cyril's presently has ten classes, pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.  St. Cyril's is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Western Catholic Education Association and is a member of the National Catholic Education Association.

Mission Statement

St. Cyril of Jerusalem is a Catholic School serving pre-kindergarten through eighth grade children of the parish and Catholic community.  The school provides an affordable education in a safe environment where a child can mature intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically.  The school seeks academic excellence; maximum use of its technological resources to intellectually challenge students and a high level of parent and community involvement.  Spiritual and moral values and respect for self and others are fostered, thereby enhancing the development of life skills necessary for success as a Christian adult.

Future of St. Cyril's School

At the beginning of its second fifty years, St. Cyril's continues to live up to its mission of offering high quality, Catholic education to the children of the parish and community.

St. Cyril's has a well-deserved reputation for academic excellence taught in a disciplined Christian environment.  The school enhances its programs through active parental involvement.  A strong sense of family has been a hallmark of St. Cyril's over the years.

Children graduate from St. Cyril's fully prepared to compete for admission to select Catholic and other private high schools.  St. Cyril's boasts a long list of alumni who have returned to enroll their own children.

Quality curriculum, nurturing staff concerned about the development and dignity of the individual and involved parents are the elements which have made St. Cyril's successful in the past.  These same elements are also the foundation of its future.
